THE WAKE-UP CALL FOR HUMANITY I stopped eating sweets years ago. I still drink my Red Bull—and yes, I know it’s not good for me. That’s my conscious choice. But here’s the bigger question: Why have we collectively accepted a food system where things that damage our health are marketed to us as normal food? Some moments in life really shape your outlook forever. On 17 January, we sang this song to our brother Ola as we said our goodbyes at the hospital. We linked arms around him and sang together. Our gaffer led the song while we all cried through it. Afterwards, we sat outside in complete disbelief and shock. It reminded us all never to take anything for granted. Win, lose or draw, we will always sing, because we’re lucky enough to go home to our loved ones and families. What we went through as a club in January, and to then continue the form we’ve been on since, is a real credit to the lads. There’s a powerful togetherness in this group, made even stronger by that day and the weeks that followed. We’ll do everything we can to win this league in his memory. There’s been plenty of laughter and a lot of tears, but this group has been incredible. One more win for our brother Ola. ❤️
