@Jakob_Wahlberg This game easily has a shot at becoming BIGGER than Mario Kart if done right - and so far it’s being done right!

@Jakob_Wahlberg Awesome game! Could you share what tool you used to design the tracks?

AnderssonKev's profile picture
AnderssonKev11 months ago

@Jakob_Wahlberg Blender, that's how we made the geometry :)

@Jakob_Wahlberg Good to know! For shaping the track surface, did the process mainly involve extruding edges and such, or did you use any terrain tool - possibly an addon?

@Jakob_Wahlberg Take the bumping and jumping Jack mechanics from soeedracer

@Jakob_Wahlberg The biggest challenge will be the item balance. Balance between front running and bagging. I'm excited to see it evolve!

AnderssonKev's profile picture
AnderssonKev11 months ago

@Jakob_Wahlberg I’m also excited to dive into that once more items are in place!

@Jakob_Wahlberg What's your take on adjusting the maps vs adjusting stats on racers for game balance ? Seems like maps have less moving parts to figure out, no?

AnderssonKev's profile picture
AnderssonKev11 months ago

@Jakob_Wahlberg We're still in the early stages so both are changing quite a bit until we find a sweetspot, then when both feel good I'd say it's easier to tweak some gaps or turns in the level. Changing stats could very much affect all other levels.

@Jakob_Wahlberg Yeah I getcha. Stat tweaks has a domino effect.

@Jakob_Wahlberg I love the footage but my ears need stimulation even if you just add a random track in ^^

@Jakob_Wahlberg You’re not wrong, we just haven’t got to that part yet ☺️

@Jakob_Wahlberg Idea: add the ability to make strong breaks while in air. This way you are able to take other routes if done correctly. e.g. when driving normal you jump over a gap, but if you make a fast break at the correct time you can use the gap as short cut.

@Jakob_Wahlberg Question to ask yourselves… What are the players racing for?

AnderssonKev's profile picture
AnderssonKev11 months ago

@Jakob_Wahlberg You mean what their motive is to race? Do you have something that keeps you playing race games?

Daniel Romanski's profile picture
Daniel Romanski11 months ago

@Jakob_Wahlberg Lore. Even something as simple as (a cutscene) “each one of these racers has been sent here to claim evil elephants banana trophy to save their world” gives me something to go off of. Then you make your track/s elephant themed. Suddenly I have a favorite racer I care about.

@Jakob_Wahlberg You’re nailing the gameplay just FYI. Sooo good.

Back on March 27th, we shared a video showcasing the very first prototype of the CLR game. It featured the Visual Novel portion with a conversation between William and Odd, followed by a choice-driven sequence that transitioned directly into an RPG battle. Yes, you read that correctly: there are traditional RPG mechanics in the game. It's not "just" a Visual Novel. Since then, quite a bit of time has passed, and the stubborn person that Shizuna is decided to rebuild the game's entire foundation from scratch. So... where does the game stand today? 🦋 -> The entire battle system has now been designed, including each character's abilities, the combat flow, and all of the core gameplay mechanics that make battles work. What's left is polishing the overall layout, implementing the final UI, and, above all... designing every single enemy kit. And trust me, there are a lot of them. -> Every playable character now has their own unique gameplay mechanic. None of these systems were created at random, they all reflect each character's personality, state of mind, and individual fighting style. -> An autosave system has been implemented at the beginning and end of every chapter, alongside the ability to save manually whenever you want... except during battles, of course. -> Character profiles have been added. They'll contain everything you need to know about each character: their statistics, abilities, and much more. Speaking of abilities... did you know you'll be able to freely enable or disable whichever ones you want? Oh, and naturally, you won't have access to every abilities right from the start. -> The character illustrations currently shown in those profiles are only placeholders. Brand-new designs are already in the works... and there's absolutely no chance we're revealing them just yet. 🚨 Everything you see here is subject to change. This is by no means the final version. 🚨 #codelyoko #codelyokoresurgence

Check My Stats! Playoff LeBron has long since been the guy who you can tell that when he can't lift his team to victory, is just playing for stats so that afterwards, he can say "look at my stats, it wasn't my fault" Ty Lue confirmed what we all knew when he revealed that at halftime of G7 of the 2016 Finals, the most important game in LeBron's life, he was ready to quit and when Lue demanded more from him so that they could win, LeBron immediately pointed to his stats.. "Look at my stats, it's not my fault" Even though Adam Silver had given him the corrupt suspension of Draymond and young Kyrie had given him the performance of a career, dude was ready give up on his team because he knew that in the aftermath, his fans and media would use his stats to absolve him. -2017 and 2018, they got swept but "look at Bron stats" -2014 and 2015, they got rinsed off but "look at Bron stats" -2009 and 2010, he failed badly to meet Kobe in the Finals despite being heavily favored and having back to back league best records... but "look at Bron stats" That's why he's always finessed the game and played for numbers. It allows him to fake and hack "greatness" with fans who don't know or care about the integrity of the game, and media who want to push propaganda for content & ratings. But those of us who watched him shrink and quit so many times know better because we've seen real greatness and that's why the fake goat debate has failed so miserably in year 23. Here's Uncut Hoops, a year and a half ago, placing a magnifying glass on LeBron's use of stats to fake greatness.
