The upcoming arrow redesign will focus on diagramming (connecting shape -> shape). In cases where you're allowed to go inside, there's a timeout so you can still easily bind to the shape outline, but also bind inside it. (You'll always be able to bind inside any time by using Opt/Alt.) Should we add this sexy animation to illustrate the timeout better?

But the best advice is usually the simplest. be the person who smiles first. be the person who is kind to others. be the person who helps anyone in need. stop worrying about being too cool or too much. focus on being the most authentic version of yourself. the world doesn't need another copy of someone else, it needs you. stop trying to be someone else and just be yourself.

But at the same time, 🇹🇷 Turkey is still supplying cheap oil and gas to 🇮🇱 Israel, which Israel is using in its military operations in Gaza. 🙃 Arrest warrant on one side, energy supplies on the other. What a double standard. 🤡

Last year, the UK government announced that its last spy flight over Gaza to gather intelligence for Israel had been on 10 October 2025 Yet the US-subcontracted plane they had secretly rented to do it from July 2024 is still stationed at RAF Akrotiri, the UK airbase on Cyprus, more than 3 months later The UK Ministry of Defence claimed it privatised its spy-for-Israel programme because there was a "shortage" of RAF planes. But the RAF has 8 of these Shadow R1 planes - which had been sufficient for 18 months of operations - so this made little sense But, now, the US-subcontracted plane is flying other spy missions from RAF Akrotiri. The flight below, on January 10, flew over Israel, West Bank and Jordan before turning off its transponder as it approached Iraq. Could it have been on its way to Iran? No one is allowed to know But the question is: why is the UK military still using a private American spy plane when it has its own fleet? And more: why is the Labour government refusing to say how much the contract for the American spy plane is costing the UK taxpayer?

So Ukrainian Air Force is using JDAM-LR, analogue to Takbir REK Bombs of Pakistan. New debris shows that markings & code 6F8W7, which belongs to the Australian company Ferra Aerospace. The same company is involved in the production of JDAMs and other US equipment. Interesting thing is, its modular integration profile and firepower enables it to get paired with Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft. PAF has also used the same class Takbir REK munition against India in Feb 2019.

In 2007, I designed tools that let anyone draw on top of Google Maps. People could drop pins, draw lines and shapes, and layer their own meaning onto the world with "My Maps." But nearly 20 years later, one tiny design debate has stayed with me: how should people draw a shape? At the time, we had two options. 1. Draw mode: users click and drag to create. 2. Drop + edit: the app drops a default shape, then users resize + move it. I pushed hard for draw mode. People were tracing rivers and roads, so precision mattered. A default square dropped in the middle of Kansas wasn’t going to cut it. Decades later, this same debate is still playing out in modern tools: → Figma, Illustrator, Google Slides use draw mode → Canva, Keynote, PowerPoint use drop + edit While there clearly isn't consensus, some newer products are evolving beyond these patterns: → FigJam gracefully merges draw mode and drop + edit into one concept with its semi-transparent “ghost” objects. → Apple Photos on iPhone is a great context for drop + edit. The canvas is small and the mobile user inputs are limited. After decades of using digital drawing tools, I still bristle when a tool drops an unsolicited rectangle onto my screen. At best, it feels presumptuous. At worst, it feels lazy. When we built My Maps, we designed tools that invited users to create. We provided the means, but we let people lead. That same principle applies to every product today: understand who you’re building for and what they need, then design the simplest, most intuitive workflows — ones that let users lead. Where Should I Stand on an Escalator? We Indians learn and adapt quickly, especially when someone explains the reasoning behind rules. With that in mind, we're starting a new series on basic etiquette in public space. Today, let’s talk about escalator etiquette. While you can technically stand anywhere—left, right, or centre—standing on one side and leaving the other side free for those who wish to walk is considered proper etiquette. In India, since we drive on the left, it’s best to stand on the left side of the escalator and leave the right side clear for people in a hurry. This practice is followed in many countries and makes movement smoother for everyone. This might help someone catch a train, which he would have missed waiting on the escalator. If you're in a country where driving is on the right, simply switch sides: stand on the right and leave the left side clear. Small changes like this make a big difference in creating a more considerate public space.

Ok so I've been teasing this Non-Planar print to show off another use case for the E3D #NippleNozzles besides belt printing but now its time to reveal the greater purpose. In collaboration with Michael Wüthrich we developed a technique to illustrate one of practical values of Non-Planar 3D Printing. It may not look like much now but you can clearly see there is much less friction imparted to the steel ball in the front ramp which was 3D Printed using Michaels current NP slicing process as compared to a traditional layer by layer topographical print. What are some other practical uses for Non-Planar? More on this soon!

I just saw this video on IG now. The creator obviously does not know what it is. Yet, he's touching it. The main purpose of making this post is to tell you NEVER TOUCH AN ANIMAL OR PLANT YOU DON'T KNOW, most especially at the sea. If it now has bright colour, avoid it until you're sure it's safe to touch. The organism is called velella and it is mildly venomous. The venom doesn't really have effect on humans but some people might be affected by it. When it is touched, using that same hand to touch the the face might cause the face to itch or burn. Officially, it is not found in Nigeria, but I won't rule out its sighting totally. They're usually found in America's, Europe, Asia and Australia. In Africa, they've been found in Tanzania, Mauritius, and South Africa too. Therefore , they might get drifted to coastal areas in Nigeria too. Thank you.
