We've played these games before! Short update going over: - BSV/Namecoin getting screwed with CSAM - Likely fallout once Core 30 goes live/nodes offline - Peter Todd/Adam Back shooting the messenger - Shinbo/MrHodl trolling my wife

"This is a monetary network we treat all transactions as equal and treat stuff that isn't transactions with extreme hostility"

Have you talked to Saylor? How can whales like him allow this without making a huge stink? This is a direct threat to their personal wealth.

I'm happy that there are people like you in Bitcoin, and in the world. Thank you for everything you're doing.

They definitely moderate

Much gratitude and respect for all you’re doing. Your red flag waving has caught the attention of so many people like myself who are now going to run a node (knots) for the first time. Watch % rise and know you have many more supporters than detractors 🧡

This brings to mind the kind of “genius” thinking we’ve come to expect from Bitcoin Core.

Thank you for being voice of sanity for all of us. If you wonder what to do to fix the HardCore bug - run your own Knots node, and then learn about mining your own blocks with Ocean!

don’t stop mechanic 💪🏼

@LibreHans thanks man, you are doing good job. bitcoin exposes true personality of everybody, therefore heroes of the last become villains of present. Roger Ver learned it, Adam Back and Peter Todd will also learn their lessons.

Man, what a huge shitshow from core. I hope more and more people wise up and at the very least pledge not to upgrade over the coming weeks.

Let's gooooo

Why are you calling so much attention to this problem that's possible without 30 being released, at all, even with knots? Also, Please cover the specifics in Core's official statement. Also, there are scumbags on both sides of this.

Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's actively endorsed or can't be made more trivial.

This can be an argument against virtually any technological change. No one connected to bitcoin is actively endorsing it. Is it really made more trivial if it's cheaper to use inscriptions, they can fit more data in and a viewer already exists?

Pretty sure I've already gone over this...with you. In inscriptions it's broken up into chunks beyond ~540 bytes or thereabouts and inscriptions are a *hack* - that is *not what taproot is actually for*.

A well-known, easy to use, hack + viewer. Taking the contents of an image and sticking it into op_return isn't an (expensive) hack? I'm pretty sure a 1-line script could embed both types, no?

any DEV that ACK this increase, knows or should have known that it 'trivially enables' CASM any NODE that runs newer Core, or purposefully changes their own node to run this change knows or should have known that it 'trivially enables' CASM any MINER that runs such a node, or creates such a block, knows or should have known that it 'trivially enables' CASM No, ifs, ands or, ors about it. If they are in a region that where the state can come after them, they will. 'KNOWS OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN' is very broad, and they WILL come for you. They WILL charge with creation and distribution. And no one will come to defend you. NO transactions NEED to have this data, thus you have NO excuse! NONE.

Naïvety? You weren’t aware of BSV? Really? Your talking points are all over, so you need to start over, with the Genesis Block. BSV txo’s start with 1. BSV is Bitcoin. Craig was right. BTC is segwit/gregcoin. Sorry Greg, BTC isn’t Bitcoin anymore.

You’re a trooper dude

So 4 weeks until Bitcoins potential death. Not seeing yet how Bitcoin as an independent mycelial network will fight off this attack.

@Coinicarus

@mattkratter Yes we are heading towards a train wreck and at this point we can't stop it, sheep will be sheep. So what now, sell all btc and embrace CBDC? No. The solution will be combination of soft fork and AssumeUTXO type validated UTXO set snapshots that don't require IBD with the JPEGs

@parman_the Why aren't @saylor and Larry Fink @BlackRock talking about this? They have a lot at stake.

Thanks for your efforts Mechanic. I started a Knots node.

Thank you !

Core v30 isn’t the threat. Running it without config is. If you never touched acceptnonstdtxn or datacarriersize, don’t blame Core for relaying inscriptions. Bitcoin policy lives in bitcoin.conf, not in GitHub drama. #Bitcoin #Core #Knots #FixTheFilters

@parman_the Stay on the pleb path. All the plebs are awake and see the reality. Plebs together strong. #thisistheway

Shouldn't you be getting ready for your fantasy football show on ESPN?

Highlighting all potential attack vectors is the only way to protect the project. Thank you for all your efforts.

Principles before personalities.

Why are they trolling your wife?? That’s weird

BSV is censorable dipshit, that's why you hate it so much, remember? Stick to the script

Fill the mempool with trash and you will get more mined blocks that match the trash in the mempool. Rando bitaxes will accidentally mine it and large miners will feel they have more cover to do it because hey it's in the public mempool and cannot be pinned on them individually.

@jaydyer

„Nobody will think of this attack“…if this is really what Adam and Peter believed, I lose all respect for them. Pathetic. Thank you @GrassFedBitcoin for your service, we know that you are taking a lot of heat for defending bitcoin.
