[WATCH] The EFF has filed court papers in the Western Cape High Court. They are challenging what they say is the "unlawful and unconstitutional" adoption of the 2025 Fiscal Framework and Revenue Proposals by the National Assembly. The National Assembly adopted the fiscal framework earlier this month. EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo provides more details.

The National Infrastructure Fund is one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in present-day Kenya. Through this framework, commercially viable infrastructure projects that are critical to driving economic transformation can be financed outside the traditional budgetary framework. This approach eases pressure on the Exchequer and creates fiscal space for the government to prioritise other crucial sectors such as health, education and social protection, while ensuring that transformative infrastructure continues to be delivered.
