Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Poor control of this face angle is what leads to a whole host of swing issues. More so than physical limitations. For example, it is far more likely you come over the top in an effort to stop the ball going right because your face is wide open and you’ve seen the ball go right the last 5000 times than it is you lack hip or shoulder mobility. It would be beneficial for me as a trainer to say otherwise, but I just don’t believe it to be true. Use the gym to work on your physical capabilities. Improve your mobility, strength, and power. These are the things you are losing as you age. Leave the swing mechanics for your practice and golf lessons. If you try to “fix your swing in the gym” you will likely do a poor job of training your swing and your body.

When I say “beans and rice, rice and beans,” I don’t actually mean only eat rice and beans. What it represents is so much more than a low grocery bill. And people are doing it every day, everywhere. The stuff I talk about is not hard to understand. It’s very hard to actually go and do it. You’ve got to decide you’re going to DO it. Day in and day out, you’ve drawn a line in the sand, and you are NOT going back. No more excuses. You’re taking control of your actions and your life. Live action widget just takes over your Lock Screen. Similar things planned for earnings calls for the finance watchlist. More personalization and customization are being worked on and coming in March. Idea is for you to not even have to think of asking stuff. The AI should just do that work for you and give it to you without any effort.

Iranian streets are filling up for the 4th day as freedom-loving people around the world celebrate a New Year. I’m asking you to take a few minutes today and pray for the people of Iran. If you see footage of them in the streets, do your best to confirm it and share it. People have a hard time believing things without seeing evidence. The current regime will do everything it can to prevent brave voices from being seen and heard. This is why it’s crucial for those of you who are willing — to share what you can, whenever you can.

This is an oldie but ever so applicable with summer coming to a close in the northern hemisphere. That rough around the greens is healthy and happy. Try this if you are less than 2 feet into the rough. It’s a great escape shot to have in your arsenal! Ball behind trail foot / Putter delofted to project the ball INTO the turf / You’ll typically hit this shot softer than you might anticipate / Ball will pop up and over the rough before landing in the fringe and trickling up to the hole. Give it a go!

I kid you not, Taiwan is the most orderly country that I have seen in my entire travel history. I have been using their public transportation and boy they are the epitome of discipline. I have been to Japan and you would have read about them as well but I feel they beat Japan in here. Stations as crowded as Rajeev chowk but people are in zen mode, not even a single soul is breaking the queue anywhere. 0 bloody push, 0. 🤯 This law and order, keeps your mind cool. Nothing spoils your mood and you can invest your time and brain over things that matter and not pity problems or argument. From escalators to Metros, not a single person is breaking the queue. I will put forward more videos.

Hey Punks! Exactly 8 years ago (to the minute) I claimed my first punk. In the years since we've seen a ton of incredible ways the community has shown up for the project and created public goods for the ecosystem and here's yet one more for y'all to nerd out on. Excited to share a fun little tool for y'all I've been working on with Generative Goods and embroidery wizard (DCA) Daniel Calderon Arenas. Put your punkID in the box and get professional quality DST (embroidery) files of your punk in a variety of sizes. I see people wearing their punks all the time and after spending the last few years deeply studying machine embroidery understand how annoying and complex it can be to get a good digitized version of your punk. A good digitization can cost $100 and that's for a single sized output. The punk embroidery generator will give you a range of sizes in stitch-perfect outputs for any of the 10k punks plus for the DIY folks a cross-stitch pattern for you to make your own by hand (s/o to Fanny Lakoubay and Rachel Suzanne Tien Wood who completed theirs of STONE's #98 recently 🙌). We've put some instructions on the site to help you through the process, plus some embroidery machine recommendations in case you want to go all out and make them look at feel professional. Note: GenGoods is not set up to do the embroidery for these (our system uses the same 15 colors across all our projects and Punks use way more colors across all the various outputs) but the downloads on the site give you exactly what you need to walk into any embroidery shop and have them make your punk for you. We suggest thread colors in the tool but that's just to get you started. A good embroidery shop will have tons to pick from so just pick the colors that best match your punk. It takes GRIT and sacrifice to play Div 1 Soccer. Self reflect and ask yourself these questions: 1. Will you get up for early AM lifts and not just drag yourself there but arrive happy and energized, eager to work and motivate your teammates? 2. Are you ready to miss family events—weddings, birthdays and be separated from your parents for longer than you ever have before? 3. Can you manage every aspect of your life for the first time by yourself, before you even throw in the rigors and demands of a sport? 4. Can you survive in an environment where you are defined by your sport and have very little social life existence outside of athletic and academic obligations? 5. Can you handle the mental challenge of going from the super star to possibly bottom of the roster, sitting on the bench, and/or not traveling with the team? 6. Will you be genuinely happy for your roommate who is getting all the playing time and attention while you’re getting none?
