What a beautiful battle

this is perfectly set up by the Simon Manus fight which is among the slower and more disappointing fights in the whole game. it makes you think "ugh, this can't be it" and then the game throws this masterpiece at you

Even though this is "Trisha's Lullaby" from the Fullmetal Alchemist anime OST, the sadness and melancholy of that song goes perfectly with the lore of this fight. And since the alchemists play a key role in both stories it's also a perfect fit storywise.

The realization of what the Nameless Puppet actually is paired with the real music for this battle made him a perfect and horrifying final boss (to me, anyway).

Geppetto gave his life when the "first" puppet attempted to murder Pinocchio by stabbing him in Carlo's heart. The creature fell, and P grieved the passing of his father, despite sending the monster to attack him. "You don't know what you have until it's gone."
