I'm a 77 year Vietnam vet. I have no family, no wife now either, and no kids - not even a dog. I hope upon my death that someone will do this for me but I'm no hero just a vet. Oh, and I'd gladly do it again if asked! Honor, Duty, Country.... words that allowed me to live a good life.

During my Dads service at Ft. Sam Houston a group of 50 vets riding Harley’s came to a stop,shut off their engines then got off their bikes stood at attention and saluted my Pops casket.All this for a man they didn’t know.They waited til taps and the 21 gun salute before riding off. A moment I’ll never forget.. It’s truly a brotherhood. God Bless this man and all vets including my Pops..

This is at the Salt Lake City Veterans home. They did the same for my father and family. One of the most honorable moments of my life. Thank you to such a loving and dedicated staff. They loved my father well.

My husband had this at the hospice he was at in 2018. It was the middle of the night, so it was a very quiet time. But all the nurses and everyone stood to show respect. NW Ohio Hospice on Detroit Ave in Toledo Ohio ❤️

An announcement is made “Honors Escort honoring one of our veterans” and people from all over the hospital line the halls giving honor and respect for the deceased veteran and their families and friends following the flag draped gurney. Taps is played. Silence.

Wow. Thank you for that. There's something wrong with my heart and my eyes. God Bless every Veteran of America, for the last 250 years. Thank you for your Service and each and every Sacrifice you offered our Country.

Very Nice Send Off. Condolences to his/her Family. These are REAL Vets. Real People who lose their loved ones and it's a big change for their day to day lives. We are SUPPOSED to live in a Country that respects Vets.

May God bless that precious family. The funeral home what picked up my WWII Navy aviation mechanic father’s body brought the flag. I was so thankful & honored to walk behind the stretcher as this family did. He was 93…one of the rare breed. All heroes.

When my fathered died, the funeral home asked my mother and I if we wanted the rifle salute. He was a Korean war veteran. She wasn't doing well and said no. I looked at her and the funeral home and said YES! HE GOT IT.

This brought tears.

Beautiful in every way, honoring our Veterans is crucial. Blessings to family.
