I toured all of the major Moscow subway stations in 2018, during the World Cup. No less than amazing. In 2019 I went to NYC. Took 3 steps down into the subway and it reeked so badly of piss that I turned around and walked 3 miles instead. In flip-flops.

Japan is pretty amazing too. Clean, on time, escalators have a fast lane, people respectfully keep to themselves and if talking do so in a low volume.

True story. When I was in Moscow in 2018, my wife and I were on the subway. This little old man with coke bottle lenses was stumbling down the train (they tend to wobble). Russians are polite and men will always give their seat to women and the elderly. I jumped up and said, "Gospodin! Spaceeba!" (Sir! Please!) and guided him into my seat. My neck was killing me from touring all day, but I stood against the rear bulkhead. This little old lady was looking at me, eyes squinted, like she was analyzing me. So, we all came to our stop and disembarked. Walking out into the mass crush of humanity, I felt a tug on my shirtsleeve. It was the little old lady. She said, "American, you have pain?" I looked back, surprised and said, "Da, madam." She gave me a blisterpack of Ibuprofen. I said, "Spaceeba." Then she shoved some candies in my hand and said, "You good boy." There is a common sense of humanity and respect amongst those people. I really hope we regain it here one day.

Guys, you didn't use the Moscow metro. I drove. From about the age of 7 until I was 22 (now I'm 27), I rode the subway while living in Moscow. Believe me, there's enough horror there. And the unfinished stations on the old outskirts of the city, and the citizens of Islamic countries performing prayer in the middle of the platform. They're far from New York trash, but let's just say Moscow trash is... "Fucked up in the showroom"

I was with my father and passed by the subway in NYC late at night where they were doing construction. A flood of rats came out of the ground like a Dracula movie!

The Russians are so advanced that they have to make videos of their subway or supermarkets 10 times a week so everyone knows that Russia is great, except that nobody wants to move there.
