DOG is GOD backwards to me because a dog’s love can feel sacred. Not because a dog is God, but because the loyalty, trust, forgiveness, and unconditional love a dog gives is one of the purest gifts on this earth. That is why a dog should never be treated like a toy, a prop, or a temporary comfort. If you get a dog, then love it, feed it, water it, walk it, protect it, and care for it for life. Because when a dog depends on you, that is a sacred trust. And if you are not ready for that, then do not get one.

It's hard to imagine how neglected and abused these dogs get and then recover to trust and love. I can't imagine the dog's pain.
