What a Finish!

When Jake hit that DDT, it was like he took a shotgun to the dude's face. Love the way he's able to get the win even after the massive pinfall delay. That's a FINISHER!

The delay is my favourite part… they didn’t rush… they received a bigger POP!

The delay and no lockout is everything The finish from ropes to pinfall was over a minute. No top rope gymnastics, no flippy flips, just something the audience could easily understand whether they’ve never been to a show or they’re sitting in the nosebleeds.

That transition into the DDT was so smooth. When I was a kid, the DDT was THE finisher. You get hit with that, its game over. No kicking out. Done. I miss finishers being protected like that.

The gleeful & maniacal look on Martel's face really puts it over the top!

Complaining "back when finishers meant something" those were basic finishers. Those finishers now are set up moves. Different times smh

Rick Martel is underrated. Should have been in the hall of fame already.

Today it would require 3 DDTs to end the match. Or Martel would popup right up, no sell and try a devastating move on Jake. Go back and forth like that for a minute. Would end up with a much smaller pop. But would end up with a This is awesome chant, and 5 stars from Meltzer.
