I’m just laughing at the idea of calling some dude in an office, asking any question about any game on the system, and the guy is able to answer it off the top of his head.

I called that line for help on Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, because I missed the hint to kneel by the lake with the blue crystal. They helped and I called a few more times. Received a whooping when my father got the phone bill. 🤷‍♂️

We had also this kind of thing in Finland back in -90 something. It was for subscribers to the gaming magazine. I was stuck in Indiana Jones, Fate of Atlantis and I made the call and got help. It was so exiting for little kid!😅 First game I ever finished.
