I remember early on in my relationship with my beautiful wife, we had a fight that early Saturday morning. So challenging, I had to get out of the house, so I go to the Starbucks a few blocks away. I'm sitting there at the table journaling and an older couple comes in, I offer to share my table with them. Sitting down, I continue journaling when it dawns on me that here's an opportunity to learn from someone who's been there. I ask them how long they've been married, "Over 40 years they say." I say, "Oh wow, you must have a wonderful marriage, and never fight." They laugh at me, "Oh no! I was pissed at him this morning and we had a fight." She says as they're both laughing with me. I learned that morning, 20 years ago, it's not that you don't fight, it's that you don't let the fights rule your life. 80/20 Rule, make sure you focus 80% of your time and energy on why you love the person, that way when the 20% pops up, it's not a big deal

I am lucky that I also have that kind of joy with this girl. 😀
