I had that, it was a bent rim on the inside of the tire. You can’t blame punctures on the dealership. And false news again because you can go to any tire shop and they’ll handle your tires.

Perhaps morons but your reasoning is not correct. He stated inside tread wear, not outside which could be curb rash. Tesla uses negative camber (non-adjustable) to improve cornering and handling If this were “fixed”, the next complaint would be the car doesn’t handle as well as it did. Proper inspect, and not just a visual walking around vehicle, would prevent wearing tires past the wear bar resulting in steel cords being exposed.

Very painful to listen to. At one point it sounds like he's talking about excessive wear on the inside, which can happen, but then he calls it punctures. Notice the journalists involved didn't have enough common sense to inquire about excessive wear, or tire rotations, etc. Every one of them would call a plumber if they dumped a big load in the toilet and plugged it up - that's how dumb each of them are. Regarding excessive wear on the inside, I have the same problem and I assume it is because I drive a curvy road every day. At about 25K miles, I have the tires flipped on the wheels. I got 50k miles on one set before.

I have a 2021 Model 3 LR and I’ve never once bought my new tires from Tesla. My local tire shop sells the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus which I use. Just rotate every 6k miles. No issues.

Personally, I was going through tires left and right. I think I went through 6+ tires over 2 years costing roughly $450 each. My wife stopped driving my car about a year and a half ago and I haven’t lost one since.

It’s not tires. This is a stupid story that is a camber issue. It could be that because of the weight of the car it’s wearing the struts out. Why are we focused on the tires? This is just stupid.

It's the stock continental tires. We had a similar issue with our MY.. Over 20 flats, switched out the tires to Faulken and ZERO issues since then.

Stop hitting the curb and your problem is solved. Also since when do you need to use dealerships tires? There are many EV rated tires that will fit and any tire shop can fit them including oem tires.

I’ve owned Teslas for my family since 2017 — Model S, Model X, multiple Model 3s, and now a Model Y. Across all of them and well over 100,000 combined miles, I’ve never experienced the repeated flat tires or premature wear described in the report. Tire life has been normal for the type of driving we do. This may be specific to particular vehicles, driving habits, or local conditions rather than a widespread design issue.

This has no basis in a court room. He purchased a performance version which has stiffer sidewalls and much smaller radius for the performance aspect of the car. They do NOT do well hitting curbs or even pot holes. Best bet is get new performance wheel 1 inch smaller and put new meatier all seasons or performance like hankooks which have slight softer sidewalls for it and driving. IMO
