I’m not at all surprised that a senior Labour cabinet minister needs to have real wages explained to him. Particularly one in charge of finance. Here’s another for you. Try inflation. Because most of your colleagues seem to think that a fall in the inflation rate means prices are coming down.

Real wages are what 300,000 fewer people are getting since Rachel’s budgets wrecked our economy.

I haven’t had any kind of pay rise at all in 2 years. Inflation was 3.8% last year and 3% this year. These are the official figures which don’t quite aline with fact that most food items, leisure activities and clothes costs etc have gone up by far more than that. So, despite all my bills going up, and cost of all basics such as food going up very significantly, my wages haven’t increased at all. This is the same for many people so in reality despite your silly video vast majority have less money left at end of the month.

Excuse me!! There are no jobs to earn said wages…real or not.
