What are your thoughts on 70mph speed limits on motorways?

Should be increased to 90mph

Leave it at 70 theres way to many can’t handle faster speeds i see it daily it will be carnage

I find it OK.. We all push the need for speed.. Some will go above that.. Push it to 90 they will wanna go faster. I think 70 is a good limit to be honest..

Personally I think our roads are overly conjested especially motorways, I think the speed limit sits nicely with regard to driver capabilities and attentiveness.

Get rid off middle lane hoggers and you don’t need a limit

France is 82.5 mph (130 kph) if the weather is dry. Sounds good to me. The police informally let you do 79 mph anyway (10% plus 2) in the UK.

90 mph where appropriate, modern cars can handle that.

I once did 195mph on the M4 on the motorway at 2am and it was empty and perfectly safe. Got caught speeding at 3pm one afternoon at 140mph by a police car who zoomed past me but did not stop. the fine was almost 10k but i kept my license. these days a modern car can stop from 70 to zero in a second or two. the UK needs to scrap all limits and make it like Germany's autobahn.

90mph and reduced to 60mph in adverse conditions.
