I worked at a biotechnology research company and one thing we needed was an algorithm to sort through low res images of stained cancer cells to tell us ratios of active vs inactive cells. THAT is a good use of AI. Sorting algorithms and speeding up processes humans CANT do.

Facts. But they are so dumb, so stubborn that it's like talking to a wall. They know it's true, but they refuse to admit it.

I use it for fault finding electrical circuits and other electrical engineering faults. I have 18 years experience and still get stumped by things, iykyk. I use it like a soundboard to bounce ideas off of and check things quickly. It’s not always correct and sometimes is over confidently incorrect. It’s helped me a lot. Most people use it as a Google replacement or to generate BS images. We are at step 1 with it. It’s not going away and will get better and better. But I agree, you have to learn how to do something properly first. AI is just a tool. NOT a replacement for time, effort and knowledge.

Now replace AI with 'camera', or 'photoshop', or 'word processors', or 'DaVinci Resolve', or 'printing press', or 'cake mixer', or 'processed food', or 'supermarkets'... Same argument, still just as ignorant.

While I agree with most of what you said and that should be how the world works...it's not how the world really works. The harsh reality is that the one thing that people value more economically is speed. People are willing to compromise everything for speed.

@boyo_francis From what I seen and heard people talk about A.I. How they explain it and how they work. It's not even A.I. It's just an expensive version of Google search. Like it's just auto-generating from existing words from the internet. That's not A.I.

AI has a lot of good uses, but so many people are using AI with the expectation that it's 100% perfect and has zero problems. AI should be no more of a tool than a calculator to help with a process, not become the process

If AI can create something in 5 minutes that would take me days, weeks, months or years then I'd rather go with AI and use my free time to learn and do something else. Its called the desire for freedom. Why is gambling so high? Because people want to be free.
