The Cybercab knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation.

Maybe if it was a one off, but this is twice now, which highly suggests it is dynamically opening

@techAU Both of these look like it's parked pretty far from the thing next to it. I'd like to see a video of closer parking where we know the door would hit if not stopped.

@OwenSparks @mholt6 The truth is, nobody except Tesla knows whether it is luck or not. But I'd bet it is not, as this would have come up during testing.

I’m a Tesla fan too but there’s zero shot it’s measuring this close. Just by chance it didn’t hit.

What happens if the car next to it is closer? Will it open the door?

No way to control where it stops exactly, so I assume it will always leave enough width to get out and just find a new drop off if there is not enough room

Looks like a staged video to me. In other words, if you try this 10 times it may fail 8 out of 10 but we only get to see one of the two other occasions. A lot of "look how amazing FSD is" are based on the same principle.

The same sensors that are whacking people in the head.

i wish they’d extend the black magic to my Model Y tailgate that’s constantly opening in to shit.

It is pretty easy tech, it knows the surrounding by creating a live 3D mesh, and it knows its dimensions as another 3d mesh, it just does collision detection on two 3D objects, like a game. Bounding box detection first, then more boxes until precise. In this video, it knew exactly how far to open its doors.

この動画、隣の白い車のサイドミラーにあとほんの少しというところでドアが止まっていて、接触していないのがはっきりわかります。バタフライドアは横に開きつつ上にも上がるので、普通のヒンジドアより側方クリアランスの管理が難しそうなのに、ここまで寄せて止められるのは正直かなり驚きです。 テスラの公式ライダーガイドでも、障害物を検知した場合は自動ではドアを開けない、と明記されています。必要なら「Hold to Open」で上書きできる仕様なので、単なる開きっぱなしではなく、周囲の空間を見て開度を制御していることがわかります。カメラだけのTesla VisionでOccupancy Networkを使い、二次元の枠取りではなく「そこに物体がある空間」を立体的に推定しているからこそ、こういうミリ単位に近い動きが出ているのだと思います。 「ビジョンオンリーでは近距離の精密作業は無理」という指摘は長年ありましたが、停車時のドア開閉のような、LiDARや超音波がなくても厳しい場面でこのクリアランスを出せているのは、FSD側の空間認識がかなり進んだ証拠に見えます。オースティンで一般向けのCybercab運行が始まったばかりのタイミングで、こういう実車映像が出てくるのも興味深いです。 もちろん一本のクリップだけで「常にこの精度」とは言えません。夜間、雨、カメラの汚れ、ミラーのような細い突起、斜めから差し込む光など、条件が変わったときに同じように止められるかはこれから見ないとわかりません。リプライでも「たまたま当たっていないだけ」という見方は出ていますし、その慎重さは妥当だと思います。それでも、今この時点でここまで寄せて止めている映像が出てきたこと自体は、かなり印象に残ります。
