This is Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia, and it spews neon blue lava. The lava that flows down the slopes of the volcano burns a memorising sapphire blue. This rare phenomenon is due to large deposits of pure sulphur, which glows a magnificent neon blue as it burns. When the super hot sulphur gases mix with the oxygen-rich atmospheric air, it produces light.
