What can Tesla do to avoid this in the future?

I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist but this seems like they called it just to have it in front of the driveway. There would be literally no reason a robotaxi would be there specifically. Makes no sense.

Idk why people think a random mom who doesn’t even have the app would order a robotaxi specifically to block her driveway as she’s trying to get her kid to school, just to make a TikTok. The driveway is definitely not a conventional concrete pad so the robotaxi likely didn’t detect it as one

As we both know from experiencing MANY Robotaxi rides in Austin the cars do not just show up at random houses and block driveways for absolutely no reason. Either someone called the Robotaxi and it’s waiting for someone to get in or someone just got out and it’s about to take off. Sometimes they can get stuck but in my experience they leave with about 60 seconds. Now could this be a robotaxi testing? Low probability but maybe. But what I said is true, robotaxi does not just show up at random people’s houses.

Suggestion: Give Robotaxi a dedicated support phone number so tele-ops can override and move the car remotely (Waymo already does this). Or just put a help button in the app so you can reach support without having to book a ride first. Alternatively, they can just not park in front of a driveway lol @KalenaKBrown

Not letting it block driveways for more than 60 seconds when there's no riders in the car would be option one. Moving out of the way of an approaching vehicle, when the robotaxi is empty would be option two. There's a lot of options to be honest

They should program the rear camera to work on like the auto truck. If you stand behind it for 5 seconds it pulls ahead.
