#WATCH | Mumbai: On Indigo flight delays, President, Federation of Indian Pilots, Captain CS Randhawa says, "Indigo operates approximately 2,200 flights all over India... Most of these flight disruptions, cancellations, and delays have been attributable to, firstly, the crew shortage... Secondly, they have been inducting aircraft. It must be appreciated that when you induct an aircraft, you must have an adequate number of crews per aircraft... Thirdly, Indigo pilots were flying about 55 to 57 hours. After 1st November, they offered pilots the option to buy back their leave... The crew rostering of the pilots was totally inappropriate. They did not plan the crews correctly... Lastly, after the second phase of the FDTL (Flight Duty Time Limitation), new CARs (Civil Aviation Requirements) came into effect by the order of the Delhi High Court on 1st of November. They immediately approached the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and sought a variation. We have asked the DGCA how the variation or dispensation was given to Indigo and other airlines, as this CAR had to be implemented... I request the DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation not to grant such dispensations and variations, and to implement the CAR in totality... There are a lot of remedial measures which Indigo has to take..."

This flight found itself on a collision course with an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft (Ethiopia 602) that had departed from Addis Ababa en route to Dubai, cruising at 39,000 feet. The Qatari flight almost collided with the Ethiopian Airlines plane flying above it. Fortunately, the aircraft's onboard Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) issued an immediate warning, indicating the presence of another aircraft at the instructed altitude. The system advised the Qatar flight not to climb to the 40,000-foot level. The two aircraft were dangerously close, but the collision avoidance system installed on both planes averted a potential disaster. An emergency evacuation was launched at Chandigarh Airport on Tuesday after a power bank caught fire on an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Chandigarh. “On 5 May 2026, while IndiGo flight 6E 108 from Hyderabad to Chandigarh was stationary after landing, an incident involving a customer's personal electronic equipment catching fire was reported,” IndiGo Airlines confirmed in a statement. “In the interest of safety, an immediate evacuation was carried out and all the relevant authorities were immediately informed. All customers have been safely moved to the terminal and are being attended to by the team to ensure their well-being. The aircraft will undergo necessary checks before resuming operations. As the video shows, shining a laser at an aircraft can impair a pilot’s vision—sometimes permanently—during critical moments of flight. These incidents present a serious safety risk to everyone on board the aircraft and to the communities below. Federal law treats aircraft lasing as a serious criminal offense. Knowingly aiming a laser pointer beam at an aircraft or its flight path is a federal felony punishable by a term of imprisonment of up to five years. Where the aircraft is federally operated, lasing the aircraft can also constitute assault on a federal officer. Individuals who aid and abet such conduct, or even those who act as accessories after the fact, may also face federal prosecution. Jesse Kong, 30, of Maui, Hawaii, pled guilty to being an accessory after the fact to a laser-pointer assault on a federal pilot, and faces up to 6 months of imprisonment. Kong admitted to purchasing a laser pointer online and loaning it to an associate who, in Kong’s presence, aimed the laser at a federal aircraft and into its cockpit, disorienting the pilot and interfering with the aircraft’s operations. 🚨TRIANGLE OBJECT SIGHTING SOUTH OF CARROLLTON - AUGUST 3RD 2026 Witness account: "On Monday, August 3, at exactly 6:40 PM CDT, I captured this footage of a massive, dark triangular object while onboard my flight from Jackson, MS, to Atlanta, GA. Sitting on the right side of the aircraft looking South, we were 37 minutes into the flight and roughly 16 minutes from landing, placing the object near the AL/GA state line (approximately 5 miles south of Carrollton, GA). The object was an estimated 5 to 8 miles away and appeared to be moving very slowly relative to the cloud deck below. 🚨TRIANGLE OBJECT SIGHTING SOUTH OF CARROLLTON - AUGUST 3RD 2026 Witness account: "On Monday, August 3, at exactly 6:40 PM CDT, I captured this footage of a massive, dark triangular object while onboard my flight from Jackson, MS, to Atlanta, GA. Sitting on the right side of the aircraft looking South, we were 37 minutes into the flight and roughly 16 minutes from landing, placing the object near the AL/GA state line (approximately 5 miles south of Carrollton, GA). The object was an estimated 5 to 8 miles away and appeared to be moving very slowly relative to the cloud deck below. Flight track of an aircraft, N611VG, that flew up to the New York area before doing a U-turn and flying directly over Washington D.C. At the end it descended rapidly. It is possible the sonic booms were aircraft scrambling (either DCANG who were in an exercise) or AC F-16 or both
