Both were given safe haven in Pashtun majority areas of Pakistan. Osama bin laden was killed in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mohammed Sharifullah was detained in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It seems as though global terrorism stemming from Central Asia can be narrowed down to a certain ethnic group in particular.
