What do you think is a freestyle?

A freestyle is off the head and made up on the spot. A written is what u wrote beforehand

It TECHNICALLY is. Because a freestyle is something that was written. “Off the top” is different than a freestyle. But the definition of freestyle has changed over the years. But I agree with him 100%. I get what he’s saying.

Freestyle means to rap a written for “free”. Hence giving “style” for “free” or a “freestyle”. Study the game

Everybody over 30 remembers when a freestyle was only a freestyle if it was off the top. Rappers started getting called out for passing off writtens as freestyles and over time people just accepted written verses as freestyles.
