I think women need to stop listening to their dumbass friends

That’s exactly how a man with self-respect moves. Joke or not, divorce isn’t a word you throw around lightly. A man of value won’t sit around and negotiate his worth with someone who makes threats out of love. You simply walk away with your dignity.

Not a joke. It’s a power move. Her friends usurped the authority of their husbands by threatening to leave. This one wasn’t having it.

The husband was planning to leave. She made it easy for him. If he was happy he would have fought to keep her.

He was looking to drop you & you opened the door. Foolish games.

Something you dont joke about, he did the right thing.

Her “joke” was deliberately hurtful. It was disrespectful. It was painful. Even if he was having second thoughts in that moment, it’s possible he was suspicious of something already. Her friends’ approval was most important to her. She chose them first. He was a toy to play with.

Women always ruin their friends relationships ….. women are never happy when their friends are in a secure loving relationship, they will do anything to ruin it.

He has been putting his needs aside for her for a long time and she told him his effort was useless so he left. To find out after the hurt that she thought so little of him to risk their life he was busting it to build for her was a joke to her was just a bridge too far.

I reacted the same way 35 years ago. Haven't seen her since court. No begging or pleading would change my mind after trust is broken. More than just happily married for 32 years now.

This whole thing is spun around against him. This man probably kept her happy by all means, and wondered what he could have done wrong. She broke him. I don't think he already wanted out. Some men suffer a lot to keep their women happy. Sorry buddy.

Her friends literally emasculated all their boyfriends and husbands and THEY MIRACULOUSLY STAYED . Her husband wasn’t having it . They are supposed to be equals in the relationship not one have more power over the other ..

I think women these days are just fucking stupid. What kind of group is it that does this shit to their partner? My guess is this was just the nail in the coffin to this relationship. If she’s that easily bullied into stupidity, it likely wasn’t her first “joke” on hubby.

I am not particularly sure those other ladies asked for divorce. They tricked her and ruined her marriage.

He already wanted to leave. She gave him the perfect excuse for not feeling guilty about it. He doesn’t want to talk to her as he want to keep the guilt at her side. Wasn’t going to last anyway.

She deserved that. It’s also why you should never listen to your friends & never let them into your relationship EVER. Fatherless behaviour.

I'm a woman and if my husband did that to me, I would have done the same. Leave no questions asked. It's about respect and not deliberately hurting people that you love.

So much to unpack … First off, the last thing any woman should ever do is listen to their “friends” about relationship advice. Second, I don’t believe this was the first, second or third time she did something stupid to manipulate her man. Third, he was primed to go and she opened the door. She was foolish to think that asking for divorce could ever be a joke. It’s not funny. That being said, she made a mistake and if he took it far enough to actually file for divorce he either wanted it or is too thin-skinned to be worth fighting to get back.
