What does Earth look like from another world? 🌍 From the surface of Mars, our planet appears as a tiny, bright dot in the darkness of space, and with high magnification, the Moon is also clearly visible nearby.

Space objects such as meteoroids and asteroids move across the solar system and can collide with both Earth and the Moon. However, the Moon shows far more visible impact marks on its surface. One main reason is that Earth has a thick atmosphere that protects the planet. When many meteoroids enter Earth’s atmosphere, they burn up due to friction before they can reach the ground. This process creates the bright streaks of light we call shooting stars. The Moon, however, has almost no atmosphere, so incoming space rocks are not slowed down or burned up. They travel directly to the lunar surface and strike it at very high speed. Each collision creates an impact crater, throwing dust and rocks outward from the impact point. Over billions of years, thousands of these impacts have covered the Moon with craters. Unlike Earth, the Moon also has no wind, water, or weather to erase these craters, so they remain visible for millions or even billions of years. This is why the Moon looks heavily cratered when we observe it from Earth through telescopes.

On January 14, 2005, the Huygens probe descending through Titan’s atmosphere revealed one of the rarest views in space exploration. From Saturn’s moon Titan, Earth and the Moon crossed in front of the Sun as tiny shadows nearly a billion miles away. What makes it even more incredible is how rare the alignment was. A perfectly central Earth and Moon transit from Saturn’s system happens only about twice every 1,000 years. From that distance, our entire planet looked small enough to disappear into the sunlight.

A flash on the Moon! 🌕 Japanese astronomer Daichi Fujii captured a flash on the unlit side of the Moon. In the absence of an atmosphere, objects travel unimpeded to our satellite's surface; upon impact, they trigger such flashes. These are clearly visible in the shadows, as the illuminated side is extremely bright. 🪐

Hey NASA Just wondering what this Fly is doing in this unedited clip of your Mars Rover on the Surface of Mars. Is it:- A) You discovered life on Mars & flies are now known to exist on the planet? Or B) You filmed this on Earth, inadvertently recorded the Fly & are trying to pretend this is from the surface of Mars?

Someone claimed the moon in the Artemis iPhone video is "stationary". Again a claim that is very simple to disprove by comparing two frames from near the start (with Earth visible) and the end (with Earth hidden). You can clearly see the rotation as Orion passes behind.

NASA just dropped brand-new footage from the surface of another world. You’re looking at raw views captured by Curiosity—a nuclear-powered rover the size of a car—rolling across Mars, 250 million kilometres from home. Not a simulation. Not Earth. Actual ground on a different planet, right now.

Earth + Theia = MOON Once upon a time — about 4.5 billion years ago — Earth wasn't alone. A rogue planet, Theia, nearly the size of Mars, smashed into it at full speed. The result? A fiery collision that could have created the Moon in just a FEW HOURS, not the millennia previously thought. NASA supercomputer simulations show that the Moon wasn't pieced together from space debris, but was instantly born from molten fragments of Earth and Theia thrown into orbit. That's why the Moon is so similar to Earth — it's not just a satellite, it's a sister.

What does the real cosmos look like through an amateur telescope? 🪐 Without hours of processing, color enhancement, or digital magic, Saturn and its largest moon, Titan, appear exactly like this—austere and monochromatic, yet incredibly captivating. Through the eyepiece, the planet looks like a tiny pearl with its distinctive ring, accompanied by a distant world shining as a faint point of light.

STILL NOT OVER IT. There were plenty of incredible space moments in 2022. Like the Moon transiting the Earth as seen from Orion Spacecraft during the NASA Artemis I mission. 🌕 🌎 What was your favorite space moment from this year?

One day, our lives will look like this. Rockets flying to space like planes in the air. A trip to Mars will be the equivalent of a trip across the country. Flying cars will be the norm. Tesla will be our governing body. Earth will just be one of many planet destinations in our solar system. The future should look like the future!

The work aboard the space station is helping us prepare for what comes next. Crew-13 will help test technologies and study how to grow plants in space, taking lessons from low Earth orbit toward the Moon and Mars.

Here's a comparison of swimming pools on Earth, Mars, and the Moon. Splash Earth Mars > Moon Relative to Earth: the Wave height on Mars is about 1.6x, and travels at 0.6x the speed. The wave height on the Moon is about 2.5x, and travels at 0.4x the speed. The model is idealized of course, and these numbers are for the pool’s waves, but not the height of airborne splash droplets, just FYI.

NASA released another image of Earth from space and people are freaking out! What is the % chance Grok that a perfect heart shape like that would form naturally in the Earth's atmosphere?

🌍 100% REAL — straight from NASA (not AI!) 🌍 1972 vs 2026: Earth from space, 54 years apart. Left: Iconic “Blue Marble” from Apollo 17 — full daylight, Africa shining bright. Right: Fresh shot from Artemis II crew aboard Orion (April 2026) as they head to the Moon. Same planet. Different lighting, cameras, and perspective — but still breathtaking. Technology evolved. Earth’s beauty hasn’t.

The 7 astrological bodies affect us and life on this planet more than you think. The gravitational interactions between the planets, the Moon, and the Sun create the axial and apsidal precessions, and these directly affect Earth's climate and life on the planet. In other words, the Geophysical Event is caused by this interplanetary interplay. If the planets, the Sun, and the Moon govern the short and long cycles, then they also have an immense influence on our individual lives. Just as the Moon causes the ocean tides, it also affects us. Even a small change in the size or distance of a planet like Mars would completely change life on Earth. So now do you understand why the planets have long been associated with gods and regarded as the rulers of the aeons?

A Mars rover recorded an unusual movement on the Martian surface, drawing interest from scientists and space enthusiasts. Mars is an active world with dust devils, strong winds, and seasonal dust storms that can move sand and reshape the landscape. In many cases, unexpected motion can be linked to natural weather and environmental processes on the Red Planet. On Mars, even the wind can leave a lasting mark on the landscape. #mars #marsrover #space #nasa #science

A dramatic moment captures a space rock striking the Moon’s surface, creating a powerful and sudden impact. The object hits at incredible speed, producing a brief flash and disturbing the lunar surface. With no atmosphere to slow it down, the Moon is constantly exposed to impacts from space rocks, which have shaped its cratered landscape over billions of years. Events like this are happening all the time, but capturing one clearly is rare. This moment gives a glimpse into the dynamic nature of space and how even the Moon continues to change. A brief impact, but a powerful reminder of cosmic activity. #nasa #space #spacex
