Right now, wealthy travelers around the world can fly to hospitals in China to get organ transplants within weeks. These organs don't come from willing donors, but are instead forcibly taken from innocent religious prisoners like the Falun Gong and the Uyghurs. It was a pleasure and an honor to speak recently at Hillsdale College about what's going on in China today. Hillsdale is an incredible institution that is teaching students the importance of truth, goodness, beauty and the dignity of every human being, created in the image of God. Utilitarian bioethics—the perverse push for the "greatest good for the greatest number"—is directly undercutting these ideals. There has been a major uptick in the CCP’s persecution of Christians in China. And history shows what often comes next. The CCP uses dehumanizing rhetoric to target groups it wants the broader population to see as less than human and eventually accept horrific treatment against. We have already seen this pattern with Uyghurs and Falun Gong practitioners, the two groups most heavily targeted by China’s kill to order forced organ harvesting industry. Dehumanization is not random rhetoric in China. It is often the precursor to imprisonment, persecution, and far worse.
