Watt (W) is a unit measure of Power. Ampere (I) is a unit measure of electron Current. Volt (V) is a unit measure of electron Pressure. W = V*I. More current, more pressure = more power to accomplish work (heating up a resistive oven/stove element, a light bulb filament, a motor)

P = V × I ( P ) = Power (watts) ( V ) = Voltage (volts) ( I ) = Current (amperes) 1 W=1 J/s * (1 joule of energy per second)

a Watt is the rate of change of energy. 1 Watt is equivalent to 1 Joule per second.

P=V.I is true in a single phase. It is useful for a general knowledge about a devise but for calculating his value you can use this calcul if the tranfor of electric use three phase P=V.I.square(3).cos(phi) Cos(phi) is a value between 0 and 1 and it is generally at 0.8

A watt is what you get when multiply voltage with amperage. It's a completely useless measurement, for the most part.

In human speak terms: V or voltage == how hard the electrons are pushing. A or Amperage == how many electrons W or WATT == V x A to give you a total description of the electricity.
