@mitsos_corner Indeed.

@mitsos_corner Fairly certain Dostoevsky never said that.

@mitsos_corner I am to the point that I will not believe in anything but Jesus Christ and doing right. I am not calling a man a woman or anything but. I don’t trust anyone in charge of government programs and that is the sad state we live in.

@mitsos_corner Yep!

Yes... and we see this happening everywhere in every walk in life. Some sources suggest a very small fraction (around 1%) truly engage in deep critical thinking, while many more struggle due to factors like cognitive biases, environment, and lack of practice, with some estimates suggesting a large portion of the population isn't actively developing these skills despite their importance in education and daily life.

@mitsos_corner There is nothing new under the sun 😏

@mitsos_corner @quark4nagus Never forget! Bookmark and share!

@mitsos_corner Dostoevsky never wrote or said this. The irony is palpable because the post demonstrates peak ignorance.

@mitsos_corner Wow never have truer words been spoken .im surrounded by cowardly imbeciles i mean total morons that will defend criminals so they can get raped.

@mitsos_corner @grok can you fact check this please.

@mitsos_corner The Covid vaccine is a sore subject. I wasn’t going to be able to go to work and hit with so much pressure and anxiety and now feel like a fool so yeah there is some resentment there.

@mitsos_corner Sadly this encapsulates where we are as a nation.

@mitsos_corner Very relevant, and well stated

@mitsos_corner Holy cow! So much truth spoken so simply. I’m guessing Jordan Peterson has read plenty of Dostoevsky.

According to Aquinas, thinking (cogitare) is: the act of the intellect applying itself discursively to know something, especially when knowledge is not attained immediately, but through reasoning. In Summa Theologiae I, q. 79 a. 8, Aquinas distinguishes thinking from understanding (intelligere), noting that thinking often involves a kind of inquiry or motion of the mind: Cogitare est actus intellectus discursivi To think is an act of the discursive intellect. Thinking is the discursive movement of the intellect seeking truth through reasoning. What is discursive? In Thomistic philosophy, discursive refers to a step-by-step process of reasoning, moving from one idea to another in order to reach a conclusion. It contrasts with intuitive or immediate knowledge, which grasps truth all at once. Aquinas uses the term discursus to describe how the human intellect, unlike angelic or divine intellect, arrives at understanding not instantly but by “running through” (discurring) various premises or concepts. Example: When you solve a math problem by going through each step, or when you form a conclusion by linking together premises: All men are mortal. Socrates is a man. Therefore, Socrates is mortal. This is discursive thinking. In contrast: • Angels understand intuitively. Their intellects grasp truths directly and immediately. This is why those who rejected allegiance to God were damned eternally. • Humans think discursively. We reason through things gradually. This is why man can reject God but repent, and enter into Eternal Beatitude, because his mind and will are wounded by ignorance. As Aquinas writes in Summa Theologiae I, q. 58 a. 3: “The human soul does not comprehend truth simply and at once, but arrives at it by means of reasoning…by discursion.” So, when we say thinking is discursive, we mean it is a motion or journey of the mind through reasoning to arrive at knowledge of truth, which is the mind’s correspondence to being, reality. Dostoevsky often saw in human reasoning as restless, searching, deeply personal yet necessarily objective. He might have said thinking is the soul wandering through the shadows in search of the divine spark of truth. That wandering often entails suffering. But it is only in this life. Not the next. The goal is the next life. Eternal Beatitude.

@mitsos_corner Wrong guy but message is valid!

@mitsos_corner "Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions" G.K. Chesterton's

@mitsos_corner

@mitsos_corner I agree with the Video but i don't think Dostoevsky ever said the word "cancelled" so this is fake!

@mitsos_corner Next level foresight 🥶

@mitsos_corner We are here now.

@mitsos_corner Dostoevsky never said it. Doesn't make it untrue. Just makes one lazy for not reading Dosotevsky. Lazier still for not bothering with a simple google search. Hell, at least ask grok.

@mitsos_corner

@mitsos_corner Price to pay for collective mental evolution 🔥

@mitsos_corner So true! America 21st century.

@mitsos_corner It's true. 🙏🙏🙏

@mitsos_corner @grok please provide a link to the specific source / work where this said. I would like to read more.

@mitsos_corner How true

@mitsos_corner Dostoevsky was always right! A crazy world where craziness becomes pandemic and the best VALUE!

@mitsos_corner Exactly

@mitsos_corner Dostoevsky didn’t say that ALTHOUGH he would certainly agree. It’s important that we don’t use half truths to oppose the imbeciles lest we become just like them

@mitsos_corner Nailed it!

@mitsos_corner Nothing to add, it's perfect!
