I think Europeans did get a sense of how strong and secure their alliances need to be. The current President of the US does not have their back--and would happily abandon them. Ugh

As a European, I must say that JD Vance in one speech managed to utter most inconvenient truths in European politics. Whether the timing or the occasion was right, is a separate issue but it was nonetheless a breath of fresh air to listen to JD Vance, to hear him address the legitimate concerns we all should have about the developments in European politics, not the least concerning freedom of speech. This will open up a very visible fault line in Europe between the political class and the electorate.

Meanwhile his administration sues media outlets and bans the AP from attending pressers. He doesn't want freedom of speech, he wants to spread his propaganda unimpeded. Fuck him. His country is not even a democracy anymore.

What they got was bluster and BS....America is doing the opposite of what they are saying and moving to fascism and dumping the democracies...watch what they do, not what they say...
