God does not lie and cannot lie. The bible is his word and if it says eternal lake of fire it means eternal lake of fire. The only way to eternal salvation from the lake of fire is the cross and him crucified. More churches need to get back to the cross.

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:46

In Scripture, the soul is the living person or life itself, not an immortal part of man (Gen 2:7). The soul can sin and die (Ezek 18:4, 20), only God is immortal (1 Tim 6:16), and the dead are unconscious, awaiting resurrection (Eccl 9:5-6; John 11:11-14).

Eternal punishment versus eternal punishing. To the lost: perish, consumed, devoured…

My friend! You should stop trying to interpret God words using your imagination and take it as it is written, it quite clear what he spoke when he said what he said, God does not contradict himself but prideful human like to change the meaning when if contradict their beliefs

We go to Heaven because We believe in JESUS CHRIST the King of kings, Lord of lords,.. God Bless Kirk!

Better question, what is the answer according to the bible?

I’d say the punishment for Sin is death. Death is the common grave of mankind. The dead know nothing and are not conscious.

lake of fire is the final destination for everyone who rejects Christ.

You’re so right,a place of outer darkness I believe there is a possibility that we could pull people out of hell and show them what heaven is all about come to Christ he loves you.He wants to heal you except him, Jesus, I am the way the truth, and the life come to me eternal life

Death, in terms of judgment, is final - eternal death, not eternal torture.

Humble yourself before the Lord. Fear the Lord. Jesus said, "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)

Experiencing the second death in a supernatural lake of fire is just as terrifying as eternal torment. The idea of not existing at all is unfathomable to me. The only difference is that one is more merciful than the other.

I think your answer is found in part in the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. The dead are in torment awaiting final judgement, aware of the lives they left behind and of what’s to come. Sin against God is so great in consequence that it shares judgement reserved for the devil

Matthew 25:46 "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Whatever you conclude, the punishment of the goats is paralled to nature of the life given to the sheep, so that to deny hell one must deny heaven.

Hell is temporary. So is Heaven. Sounds crazy, but that’s been Christianity from the start. Hell and Heaven are on Earth’s current, linear, bounded time. Luke 16 is the only lengthy discussion about hell in the Bible. When the rich man asks Abraham to go back and warn his brothers, they obviously were alive and on the same “timeline”. We also see this in Rev 6:9-10. How long till you judge earth? “They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”” - Revelation 6:10 The judgement of Earth is the last day in time/final harvest. When everyone on the planet has been saved, or defeated, THEN comes the end. Christ returns to separate every human being who’s ever lived in history. (Revelation 20:13) His people go with Him into the New Heaven and New Earth. Satan, his demons, his people, Death, AND Hell will ALL be chucked into the Lake of Fire. “Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.” -Revelation 20:14 Hell and Heaven are temporary. Christ’s New Heaven and Earth, and the Lake of Fire are infinite.

Once you are gone you don’t want to come back!

Wrong answer: “Death” is a kind of bad eternal life.

Second death is death spiritually eternally separated from God

Malachi 4:1 KJV [1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Some people may feel that being eliminated by God would be worse than eternal torment. It can be scary to imagine that you will no longer exist if you fail to live up to God's standards. Especially when they start with the belief that salvation comes from a magical incantation.

Hmm 🤔

Job explains Job 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? ALL THE DAYS OF MY APPOINTED TIME WILL I WAIT, TILL MY CHANGE COME. Job 14:15 THOU SHALT CALL, AND I WILL ANSWER THEE: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. Jesus Christ says John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, IN THE WHICH ALL THAT ARE IN THE GRAVES SHALL HEAR HIS VOICE, John 5:29 AND SHALL COME FORTH; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Paul says 1 Thessalonians 4:16 FOR THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: AND THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. When a righteous man dies, he waits in the grave till His change comes. Peter full of the Holy Spirit says Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, The Holy Spirit came from heaven that morning and He would know that David was not in heaven, yet. David himself says Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I SHALL BE SATISFIED, WHEN I AWAKE, WITH THY LIKENESS. Which is what John says in 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: BUT WE KNOW THAT, WHEN HE SHALL APPEAR, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM; for we shall see him as he is. It is WHEN HE APPEARS not before.

@datechris Is Kirk Cameron Right?| The Case for Annihilationism

keep in mind all these eternal punishment comments are for the elect of God only, like the devil was, vessels of wrath may fall into your categories

they are destroyed but they are asleep right now until the 7th Seal, trumpet &bowl

The Bible is pretty plain. Those who reject Christ go to hell in torment and are cast into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgement.

Another one who to conceal one's trues intentions. Jesus Himself indicates that punishment in hell is just as everlasting as life in heaven. (Matthew 25:46)

This makes sense...

The idea that people suffer eternally for not accepting Christ as their savior has never felt right to me. I hope that's not the way that it is.
