Sometimes I sit and cry because I’m finally allowing myself to dress and express myself the way I’ve always wanted to. For so long, I listened to people tell me what wasn’t “for me.” I was told that, as a Black girl, bright colors weren’t my thing. That I should tone it down, be less colorful, less playful, less… me. I hope my younger self is proud because we’re finally doing the things we’ve always loved instead of the things other people expected from us.

But, Jill Miller (tuneupfitness) completely changed my perspective. Soft tissue tools that don’t trigger the body’s stress response ended up being far more effective for me. Income is the lowest level of wealth. Even high income is still just you trading effort, skill, or attention for cash. The next level up is leveraged income. That’s when other people are doing work and you earn from the spread. Better but it’s still income. The real shift happens at the equity level. Equity is ownership. Equity is the dollar value of what you own in something. Income is fuel. Equity is wealth. Earn your income, buy equity.

My wife says I’m a “messy cook” because I don’t clean as I go like she does. I’m the same way with software and music: I focus on what I’m doing so I can keep moving forward, then I clean up when I’m done. Cleaning as I go distracts me from the task at hand. Marc Andreessen recently said that when writing software it takes 2 hours to get into what you’re doing, then you work for 10 hours then take another 2 to unplug. That’s the kind of clarinet practicing I did in my 20s – it was maniacal but it got me where I wanted to go.

My wife says I’m a “messy cook” because I don’t clean as I go like she does. The secret to longevity is having meaningful work and meaningful relationships. I’ve found that both are required to sustain the energy to keep operating at a high level. That’s because you need a genuine, shared passion to make what you're doing as great as it can be. And you need to pursue that work with people you genuinely care about and who genuinely care about you. If you have those two things working in tandem, you have the basis for a life of continuous evolution, which is ultimately what longevity is all about.

Took a break from work to take Paper for a spin. It does show promise at this alpha stage. Things I liked ✅Use of Shaders that you can customise ✅Export to mp4 (locked behind paywall but oh well) ✅Clear, Familiar UI. Figma users won't feel lost. Things I didn't ❌ No mask. ❌ Export to mp4 (locked behind paywall but oh well) ❌ Can't play with vector shapes to create complex shapes. ❌ Also, there's just one shape: the rectangle. I can give them a pass mostly because they're still in alpha and building good software that shows such promise takes time. Will keep an eye on Paper and see how they capture the market to make designers dream again.

In the latest, and possibly most damning, revelation from Ernst & Young… …the council’s own auditors say they could not complete the audit because Tower Hamlets would not provide all the information required. They explicitly used the words “non-compliance.” When your own auditors publicly state that you won’t fully cooperate with an audit, that should be the final nail in the coffin. And remember this is on top of everything else EY has already exposed: ❌ Contracts that don’t exist ❌ Procurement rules bypassed ❌ Financial accounts that don’t add up ❌ No clean audit since 2018 ❌ 222 active fraud investigations ❌ Money missing from the home care contract for years This isn’t a one-off. It’s systemic failure going back years and it implicates both Labour and Aspire. If you live in Tower Hamlets and vote for either in May, you are voting for this to continue.

This is what I mean by “hyper charismatics don’t believe in sola scriptura.” Listen to my old pastor. ⬇️ ❌ “There’s certain things in [the bible] that you will never lay hold of unless it comes from the mouth of an apostle, prophet, evangelists, pastor, and teacher.” They reject the idea that scripture is CLEAR and end up placing “the anointed” in authority over it. It’s the same way of thinking as RCC and EO, just in a different charismatic flavor.

q. it’s an obvious question but when you came back to be in the band, it’s an interesting thing because you’re the youngest and they’ll always think of you as the youngest but you’re also a solo hitmaker. how did that affect the way that you approach things for the new album and maybe the way the other members approach things with you? 🐰: i’m just a very carefree and open person and I don’t think too much during my day-to-day unless I really have to. so when it comes to work process or choosing songs, I’ll express myself, sure, I’ll speak up and share my opinion, but I don’t stress about it. rather… well I don’t know about the others, I guess some of the members were pretty stressed but I just thought it was fun! I enjoyed it. I did what I wanted to do
