At no point in her miserable story, where she's clearly looking for a fight, did he EVER tell her what to do. He was trying to avoid telling her what he really thought, and she thought she'd push the issue while claiming "empowerment". When someone HAS to say, "I didn't do it for you, I did it for me!", it's clear she did it for his approval and was pissed she didn't get it.

I once chopped all my hair off. Yes, it was the baby's tiny fingers grasping and pulling. He sure didn't mean to, just no reflex control yet. Once that phase ended, I let it grow again. For most of my life my hair has been long enough to sit on. 🙂
