If you were to add this to CC, maybe they’re “visual skills” or “interactive skills”?

Try it if you dare:

artifacts but TUI

Woah, super cool! I wonder if Claude could generate UI for you on the fly for scenarios not covered by built-in UI. Like if there was no email preview UI included, it feels like something that could have been generated on-demand and then saved to reuse later for future emails, customized from there, etc.

David Siegel's profile picture
David Siegel8 months ago

Yeah, it is kinda doing that already — Claude makes the UIs as tools, saves them, then uses them. I bet we could speed it up.

@FredKSchott ya been tinkering with something similar inline output, canvas kickout, forms & figures structured output, nice hypertoken use case, etc.

@FredKSchott shared some few days ago, all autogen etc.

@FredKSchott Excellent! I would love a data viz skill.

fascinating. i wasn't expecting this skill to use the terminal. my thought was that it'd be a browser thing

David Siegel's profile picture
David Siegel8 months ago

Maybe browser would be a better choice overall but I wanted to keep this in the spirit of Claude Code

@skeptrune I really like this interface actually. Nearly instantaneous

David Siegel's profile picture
David Siegel8 months ago

@skeptrune I bet we could make it way faster!

very interesting! since this burns tokens every time you regenerate the interface, i'm curious if there's a way to do this in a more token efficient manner

David Siegel's profile picture
David Siegel8 months ago

The interfaces are generated once and reused in this case, with Claude passing dynamic data to them. Claude builds the interfaces as tools and saves them. I do think it could be less efficient and more interesting. Good to hear from you, Patrick!

MattStopa's profile picture
MattStopa8 months ago

You know... After thinking about this more, I think this is more interesting than I thought. Essentially you are creating an AI operating system, where the AI is the driver. That's pretty interesting.

David Siegel's profile picture
David Siegel8 months ago

It’s not as dynamic as it should be to achieved that, but yeah, it’s a contrived demo of that idea.

MattStopa's profile picture
MattStopa8 months ago

Right, it's just conceptual. But it's a interesting idea. Right now AI is bolted on to different OS's but this has the potential to sort of be it's own OS in a sense. Just run everything via text and see the output. I can definitely see the value of this in daily life.

This looks really great! I've been building a version of this for myself that wraps Claude and other CLIs in a GUI and allows the agent to see what I have selected, update notes and lists with real-time update, etc. Not ready to open source yet.

This is genius. Tried it out but realised I needed something a bit more complex for approving draft content Claude code is writing. But your idea prompted me to prompt Claude to build a little web UI which is working nicely.

The flight one is the most fake 😂

john⚡️'s profile picture

Makes sense. I share your dream of agentic travel booking. But when I looked into it seemed like you have to be an insider to get any kind of access to flight pricing analytics, the airlines have partnerships with the Expedia etc. but if you’re not a partner you’re locked out.

Chat is a terrible interface for long-running computation. A canvas makes the agent’s working memory explicit.
