built in @FacebookOrigami with real functional correction logic via

file for anyone curious! it really should Just Work—after sending at least one message, any input starting with * will look for the closest match and edit your previous message. couple rough edges but gets the point across

next easy steps would be... • ignoring 100% confidence matches (nothing to correct) • ability to tab thru multiple potential matches (on desktop, literally done with the tab key) • esc to exit editing state

this is great! i feel like some of the best interactions come from meeting people where they are instead of forcing them to do something new

@LouisAnslow I proposed exactly this whilst I worked at Apple, must have been in 2014. iOS design team rejected the idea. And here we are at the end of 2022.
