Casinos honestly don't give a shit about card-counters. The cut off in the back of a show on manually-shuffled shoes and the burn card at the front eliminate any advantage they think they have. The automatic shuffler, same thing. Hollywood has made people think counters are far more clever than they actually are. If you want to make money at Blackjack, play the same rules as the Dealer on Dealer 7-8-9. Hit to 17. On A-2-3, same thing, but these are more often losing hands. But when the Dealer has a break card (4-5-6), get your chips on the table. This Dealer is showing 6, so you would and should double and split every hand, hitting only 11 and under. You can break a 12, and you want the dealer to get that face card. This casino allowed the K-Q to split. Many only allow natural pairs to split (K-K, Q-Q). If they had that rule in place, player couldn't have split his hands, and the outcome/payout changes.

So you can count outloud and record. They could have easily took your winnings legally by both rules. Glad they did not though.

Casinos don't like card counters, but the payout on blackjack is often 6:5 and card counters aren't as good as they think they are. Casinos hate teams -- when a card counter sits for hours until the deck is just right, and then the rest of the team shows up and cleans up.

You literally never, ever, split a winning hand regardless of what the dealer shows. Counting cards works to a point, it's obviously not full proof. I've lost a ton of money on tables where some idiot split 20. Don't do it.

You do what you want, I'll always defend players choices and talk smack to the complainers.

That's why the shoe has 4-6 decks of cards. Years ago in Reno at Jim Kelly's nugget the only game in town that still used a single deck. Easy money. Loose slots and loose hostesses!
