Every word of this. Every. Word. In speaking with people who are complaining about remote work, one thing seems to be the problem right now: management. Managers need to change. They need to trust and reward based on output rather than time spent at a desk.

YES to all of this. Some employers seem hell-bent on 2019 status-quo, or “you should be grateful for the flexibility of hybrid” mindset. Truly disappointing.

Thank you for this! Remote work makes jobs accessible to so many people who are otherwise shut out of the job market. Unfortunately, we still live in an ageist, ableist, and racist society. There's also caregivers who need flexible work hours.

Very well said Amber, thank you for sharing. I’m reminded of the saying “you can always make more money. You can’t make more time”. You can’t make back that hour plus spent commuting every day. It’s unproductive, lost time

A lot of companies think we’re going to be able to return to 2019. I don’t think that’s going to be achievable for a long time. As a workforce, we’ve evolved, and leaders need 2 learn to accept that in order 2 be successful during this transition back to restarting in person work

@MonaFortier all of this. Also - was a GBA+ conducted on the RTO decision?

I've been remote working now for 20 years and you couldn't pay me enough to go back into an office now for all of the reasons you've outlined + toxicity of many office cultures. Cliques often form due to coworker proximity and this creates other issues such as favouritism.

Strong leaders will continue to support remote productive workers. My fear is weak leadership tend to go with the staus quo for no good reason.
