Complete bullshit. Only way to distinguish the objective better player is thorough long classical with 30 sec increment in time trouble. Even fast classical comes down to blunders in time trouble which I don't think shows who objectively is better. Aiming to destroy chess.

Honestly, can't say I'm interested. I'd rather we keep it as separate championships for each time control, although personally I feel standard/classical is the true test for who is the best.

Stop this trend of giving every tournament a tag of "world championship". Or discard the current world championship title
What is fast classical exactly ? Hopefully it’s 90+30s no time addition. Which is already VERY FAST. No need for idiocy like 45+30 which is RAPID
Wtf is "Fast Classic" lol. "All the time controls" including one that doesnt exist. Ill continue to consider the world championship in actual chess that has nearly a century and a half worth of history way more valuable than your worthless attempt to dilute the real world title.
Great news, adjusting competitive chess to modern times with wider mainstream appeal. 7 hour games are for the few anoraks. Faster time controls better suited for spectators and live audience = bigger sponsors and more GMs can go professional, etc.

No, no—we want a World Championship only for fast classical chess. That would be a much more mature approach than combining all these formats and creating confusion.

To be perfectly frank, this is also Arkady and FIDE bowing to the non-BRIC (Russia-India-China, w/o Brazil) faction of the chess world; and NOT putting any more wind in the sails of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour headed by Magnus + Jan Buettner. Cementing Norway Chess in its orbit therefore is a huge coup for FIDE. And if Magnus' participation comes with it then that's gravy on top! FIDE has RUS/IND/CHI in its backpocket in perpetuity. What it doesn't have, increasingly, is the rest of the western world and their much more $lucrative viewership numbers per diehard fan. Just like for X, FB, or IG, one 30s tech middle manager in SF or NYC (of any ethnicity) is worth 800x that of an Indian keyboard warrior in the slums of Kolkata in monetization value per engagement. Dvorkovich and Sutovsky are many things, but not being able to smell the $$$ is NOT one of them. To wit: how they tried to wine and dine, and to extort $millions from Jan Buettner in London to license out the 'World Championship' trademark for FSCT.🤡
What's the time control for Fast Classic ?
Fast Classic is an innovation of classical chess, featuring a time limit as short as 45 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move. This will receive rating as classical chess.
They are creating new formats and championships just so that magnus can remain on top. Honestly at this point let magnus host a world championship on his YouTube channel live

Add variants to it. Have a 3 minute world champion, 5 minute, 15 minute world champion etc.

You have to add freestyle. Make a coorperation wirh the freestyle Organisation or smth
