Got flash banged by OpenCode recently? Yeah, that was me. Here's what happened: OpenCode/OpenTUI detects terminal theme mode (light or dark) by querying OSC 10/11 for the terminal’s foreground/background colors and deriving the mode from those values. OpenTUI also enables DEC Private Mode 2031 to receive theme-change notifications. When that mode is enabled, terminals can send CSI 997 when the system theme changes. OpenTUI treated the 997 payload as authoritative and let it override the OSC 10/11-derived result. That turned out to be wrong. In some terminals, the 997 payload is simply unreliable: it can report light while the queried terminal colors clearly indicate a dark theme. That’s what caused the flash bangs. The fix seemed straightforward: stop trusting the 997 payload as the actual theme mode and use it only as a trigger to re-query OSC 10/11, then derive the mode from the returned foreground/background colors. That works great. Except OpenTUI had also started using OSC 11 to set the terminal’s default background color, so the terminal gutter around the drawn TUI matched the app background instead of the terminal’s own default background. This was introduced recently in OpenTUI. That created a new problem: if you use OSC 11 to override the terminal background, then later query OSC 11, you are just reading back your own override instead of the terminal’s real theme background. No problem. Reset the terminal background with OSC 111, query OSC 10/11, derive the mode, then restore the renderer background again. Oh wait. Turns out Ghostty has a bug. Once this background reset/override path is used, later OSC 11 background reporting can get stuck and stop tracking system theme changes correctly. Even though theme-change notifications still fire and OSC 10 foreground updates continue. This would cause further issues where the OSC 10/11 derivation would be wrong again. So for now: no using OSC 11 to set the terminal background color just to fill the gutter. TL;DR: OpenTUI must treat CSI 997 only as a hint that the terminal theme may have changed and rely exclusively on OSC 10/11 color queries for actual theme mode detection, while avoiding terminal background mutation via OSC 11/111 because that breaks correctness in some terminals like Ghostty.

HOPEFULLY PLAVE PRODUCING OP/ED ANIME IN THE FUTURE... 💙: As for a song I’d like to try producing, personally I thought of an anime theme song. Don’t you think it would go well with PLAVE’s band sound???! (asked PLLIs) 💙: Actually not just anime theme songs but I’d also like to try collaborations with famous artists. There are so many activities I want to do. If there are any people from the Japanese music industry here, I’d like to say, I look forward to working with you in the future~

While Carlos explores the RPD in 3 Remake, there's special dialogue and even music that can be triggered. Most notably, once you meet the Licker, if you go back to the main hall, you'll get to hear the iconic RPD Main Hall theme! The track even loops in this game! #REBHFun

I work with shadcn/ui every day. I design with it, I build with it, and I see a lot of projects built with it. And honestly? Many of them look the same. Or worse - they look broken. Colors that clash. Fonts that don't pair. Dark modes that feel like an afterthought. The components themselves are great. The theming that people or AI make? Not so much. So I built a tool to fix that. I just launched my shadcn theme generator that will allow you to ship beautiful shadcn/ui themes in just 3-4 clicks. What it does: - Creates your entire color palette from 1 color (your hex or any tailwind color) - Works for light and dark theme - Only includes fonts that actually look good in UI - Font pairings I curated myself - Works for any project - landing page, dashboard, store - Has a color contast checker for the entire palette Too lazy? Just use random theme feature Done? Copy and paste the CSS to your global.css file or import to our Figma kit.

Fragment of the main theme of Resident Evil Requiem, "Through the Darkness" from the special video of the Resident Evil 30th Anniversary orchestral concert! A promotional video for the 30th anniversary and the "Biohazard Symphony of Legacy" concert was released, in which composer Nao Sato revealed "Through the Darkness" as the main theme for Resident Evil Requiem, with lyrics, music, and arrangement adapted to the story. The video complete includes classic themes and an excerpt from the new song, as well as the composers' thoughts on the concert pieces. Nao Sato: "The theme song 'Through the Darkness' was created through close discussions with the team. While the in-game music is noisy, we were conscious of making this song captivating. We went through a lot of trial and error while creating it, and I think it's a theme song that allows you to savor the worldview both while playing the game and after playing the game." #ResidentEvilRequiem #REBHFun #LeonKennedy #GraceAshcroft

Caitlin Clark is to basketball what Eminem is to rap music. Odd how no one else is being assaulted in any other sport but there is a common theme with the WNBA. You can thank Clark for the revenue she has brought in!

Alan Gustafson disputed the Chase Elliott not running well in Next Gen car theme. This is what he had to say and some of his back-and-forth with the media (fyi, we didn't have microphones so the audio of followups from me and Jeff Gluck comes from my audio recording).
