Terminal + IDE + desktop + phone… that’s pretty complete

free tokens sound great until the model behind them quietly changes mid run. curious how stable it is on longer tasks

Free tokens, paid trust.

Free Claude Code sounds great until everyone abuses it and the loophole closes in a week

Fine for learning, but I'd never route real keys through a random proxy. OpenCode users just found out why

does this actually run claude models, or just the claude code interface with a different backend? that distinction matters more than the free tokens.

how well does tool calling hold up on the free models? claude code leans on it for basically every step

"check which models it routes to" is the whole post admitting the thing is a liability

ok wait, so it's claude code the app but not claude the model, right? default looks like nemotron on nvidia's free tier

and whose bill are these free tokens going on

home or by chance specific thread night before nothing took

Me, paying €200/month for Claude to run a SaaS that makes €248: I'll take a look 👀

good for learning the harness, but the model is the part that makes claude code feel like claude code. swap that out and you’re mostly learning keybinds

free token sources always come with a catch. either hard rate limits or your prompts end up somewhere. who's actually footing that bill?

Worth reading the fine print on "free token sources" before pointing it at a real repo. Every prompt carries your code, env files and sometimes keys, so the question isn't price, it's whose server sees it. Great for learning on toy projects, risky on client work.
