For ppl asking. Thats accupuncture and the hand tool is electric for pulsing. Most likely using for stimulation of muscle for chronic pain relief. I do a version of this for tendonitis in my wrist, works well.

This is electro acupuncture or dry needling it's a common physical therapy technique. The thin needles target muscle trigger points or acupuncture points. The electric current stimulates the muscles/nerves for pain relief e.g chronic pain, TMJ/jaw issues, tendonitis, shoulder problems, etc. It's not painful as it looks

It works great for my tmj flare ups
