It’s a common myth that inflation is when prices go up. But in reality it’s always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon created by government through spending and money creation. When they print more dollars to fund endless programs, more money competes for fewer goods and services, and prices rise as the inevitable result. So the higher costs you feel are what happens as a consequence of inflation, after the government inflates the money supply.

The media preparing Canadians for higher inflation numbers being released tomorrow. We are expected to see an increase of 3% when the report comes out tomorrow, even though we all know the real inflation numbers are higher than that. What do they blame? Higher gas prices. I’m old enough to remember when the media said higher gas prices due to the carbon tax didn’t cause inflation. These organizations are nothing more than propaganda arms of the Government.
