Grooving, he is adding groves to the worn out tire. Groves help in keeping the car stable on a slippery road since it caused friction. It also helps in grounding the car when the driver applies the breaks, a car without grooves is dangerous on the road.

tyre regrooving this would add around 4mm-7mm on the tyre however , ill strongly suggest a regrooved tyre should not be fitted on the steer axle of a truck
