What is inflation again ?

Demand and supply laws in Ghana seem to work in only one direction. 💀 The moment demand increases, prices shoot up. But when supply increases, prices suddenly stall. How is it plantain bumper season, yet the price of broke-man is still having lean-season price? 🍌 The harvest is plenty, but the prices refuse to reflect it.

The most ruthless people in Ghana, Market women!! Price reduction is like venom to them.

She will rather see it rot than sell cheaper

This has nothing to do with inflation, is the greed of traders

Come to kasoa market. For them to reduce the price they will rather let it ripe n rot and through it at the back of the market. You'll find rotten melons, banana, oranges and other stuff at the market dumping site. Stiiiil they will not reduce the prices

Over pricing food stuffs

There’s plantain everywhere, I even have plenty plantain at the back of my house so it’s not like people are not buying just that there’s too much in the market and people have become extra careful with their diet. I for instance have stopped taking breakfast and my wakye seller

If you've ever been to the market to buy food stuff, you'll know the real character of these market women. They are very evil and I won't apologize. They over price food stuff and when people don't buy, they complain. They blame the government. Simple economics.

Yes inflation is down because there’s more supply than demand. That’s also a problem, but let me ask you would you rather shortage of supply and high prices or more supply and low prices… please answer this for me. But it’s a problem I hope @johndumelo will help her out.

People don't have money to buy. I am not an economist or financial expert but l know this because of the number of calls l get in a day from people asking for just 20gh otherwise they will sleep without a meal

There's this food availability information that we lack. It will inform us to know the meals we have to prepare per the season. For eg, we're in plantain and kontomire season so we must consume such foods more to ensure our farmers and food distributors can continue in business
