What is PlasmaFDN explained simply? Most blockchains try to do everything for everyone. Plasma is doing the opposite. As Paul explains, Plasma is a blockchain purpose-built for one use case: stablecoins. That means every decision - from the tech stack to liquidity incentives - is optimized around making stablecoins...

China is using rice to make blood? China is using genetically modified rice to produce Human Serum Albumin (HSA) — a key blood protein used in medicine as a plasma substitute during surgeries, for burns, liver cirrhosis, and other serious conditions! In Wuhan, Healthgen Biotechnology has created a new way to make Human Serum Albumin (HSA) using genetically modified rice! This rice works like a “bioreactor,” making HSA that doctors use for surgeries, burns, liver disease, and more. Just 25 kg of this rice gives as much albumin as 5 liters of human plasma! The albumin is nearly 100% pure and works just as well as the kind taken from plasma, according to Phase III trials! Chinese authorities have approved the process through Phase III, and it is about to hit the market! Plant-based HSA is cheaper, safer, and easier to scale than plasma. Human plasma is costly and can carry infection risks! Healthgen plans to make 130 tons of HSA every year by 2026, meeting about a quarter of China’s needs! Healthgen Biotechnology in Wuhan developed a method in which rice serves as a “bioreactor.” The rice is genetically modified to produce HSA. From 25 kg of rice, as much albumin can be obtained as from 5 liters of human plasma. The albumin reaches nearly 100% purity and demonstrated equivalent efficacy to plasma-derived albumin in Phase III clinical trials. Chinese authorities have approved the process through Phase III, and market launch is imminent! HSA is in demand worldwide, but human plasma is expensive and carries infection risks. Plant-based technology is cheaper, more scalable, and safer. Healthgen plans to produce 130 tons of HSA annually by 2026, covering approximately 25% of China’s import volume!
