What is really useful is how GPT-6 Astra got better in spatial understanding. I'm still shocked how good it navigates 3D space. Here I gave it Blender MCP and Tripo P2.0 to generate optimized 3D models and put them together, rig and animate. Result is freaking awesome! Doing 3D...

Yep. Astra is good. Even up close. This is NOT an Astra "model" - it used 3DAIStudio to generate image references and models with GPT Image 2 & Tripo P2. That P2 model came out quite bad, and it cleaned it up great & used Substance 3D Painter to give it a (overkill) grimy PBR

So how good really is GPT-6 Astra at 3D modeling? I took an old drawing of a steam train, gave it to Astra to reconstruct it in Blender. After few minutes it crafted 3,295 fully editable detailed objects with beautiful geometry. You can obviously tell it how detailed or simplified you want it. Go build your own transport tycoon 😎

Can GPT-6 Astra actually create a 3D model like this? 🤔 I’ve been seeing people hype GPT-6 Astra looooot when it comes to 3D modeling, but can it really create 3D models with this level of detail? Wish i had access to try it,.. anyway, I created this one using Tripo as my lil submission to Tripo’s Companion Challenge where you have to create a 3D companion of your choice. I generated a bunch of different imaginary companions using GPT Image 2.0, from cute little dragons and humans to these adorable animals. After trying out a lot of different ideas, I finally settled on this panda in a bamboo forest look. I love how quickly you can go from having a random idea in your head to actually seeing it come to life, these days. That part is honestly so much fun. Now I just need to animate this little guy and turn it into an animated panda game or maybe 3D print it out haha #tripop2

I had an early access to GPT-6 Astra and I can say, everyone in the world now has a 3D designer at their fingertips. I gave it an image of a house and asked to create it in 3D with all the details including toys, appliances and furniture. This a full 3D model reconstruction in Blender with geometry that you can manually tweak and run 60fps as a locally rendered "game" on device.

Goddamn, GPT-6 Astra is something really Astraordinary 😱 I gave it a 3D model and asked it to auto rig the character and add animations like walking, running and a few Kung Fu moves... and IT ACTUALLY DID IT!! No big prompts or anything. Just simple trash talk mentioning what to do. Okay, wait wait wait. Welcome to the dark reality. It took me 3 sessions to get this result and somewhere it is still very much broken 😂 But this is genuinely a great step forward for the 3D modeling field. I had tried rigging the same model using Kimi K3 and the results were bad. Almost awful. So far, Astra does feel much more promising than the other models I have tested so far. More tests coming

GPT-6 makes me scared as a 3D artist, cuz it's freaking insane. I mean, I'm testing this first hand everyday, but this time it is massive leap. look, 4 month ago I was testing GPT & Claude in Blender and they were not able to position simple objects in simple scene.. And look now... Whole car assembled from primitives in ONE prompt and animate it (hate to say that, but it was indeed one prompt). Yes, yes, it is not perfect and maybe not really usable still at this stage. BUT WHAT A JUMP.

GPT-6 Astra is a beast. Give it a Zillow listing. It can 3D model the house based on the listing photos and create a cool promotion video. The video was just created in one shot and there are still some wrong details. But I am sure it will be much better if I ask it to polish further. OpenAI is so back.

One easy way to create holes in 3D models, is by using a black and white texture. This is especially useful for cloth objects. However you can also turn it into geometry with thickness for 3D printing, with just a few modifiers. #Blender #b3d #Blender3D

GPT-6 Rigged and animated my quadrupled 3D character! I was really not expecting this to work so good... I saw many test are about assembling scene etc, but it is much more than that. Custom armature added in blender, created control rig and two animations: walk cycle and death animation. And I hate to say that "in just one prompt" It is not perfect, especially death animation needs much tweaks, but it is extremely impressive

I might’ve found a way to make yesterday’s Blender to Real video ~5,000x faster (and better imo) lol. I put the scene together with GPT-6 Astra and PATINA in about 30 minutes. But it had around 7 million polygons, so rendering took a while. I split it into chunks across 8 GPUs and rendered it in about 30min. My estimate for an M4 Pro was around 40 hours. Obviously, I could’ve optimized the settings, but that’s for the version I posted yesterday. Since then, I’ve been trying different prompts to get H3 Max to follow the Blender animation while making the buildings and materials actually look real. I think I finally got it. The 30s video took about 30s to generate with H3 Max. Compared to that estimated 41h render, that’s roughly 5000x faster :) The part I’m most excited about is how much control this gives me. GPT-6 Astra can build a detailed 3D prototype in minutes, and I can use Blender to set up the camera and movement however I want, then have H3 Max follow it.

Over the weekend, I added multiplayer "paint ball" dogfight to Tiny Skies, so players can fly around pelting each other with colourful paint balls, just for fun. I tried meshy and tripo to generate some 3D models for the game and the mesh vertices count are really high and lags the game a lot (probably because my game is a globe with thousands of objects - albeit mostly instanced). To my surprise, I found Gemini 3.1 Pro to be really quite good at generating good looking 3D models that are low in poly count. It generated 3D models at a much higher quality than Opus 4.6, Sonnet 4.6 and GPT 5.4. You can see the upgraded biplane models and some objects in the video below. #vibejam

HOLY SHIT! Sparc 3D is INSANE! All they need to do now is enable PBR texture support, object separation and decimation and this in my opinion completely replaces photogrammetry. The quality of the reconstruction of these 3D objects from a single image is mind blowing to me. Yes, the model is insanely dense to allow all of this detail but the fact that AI can generate with this level of fidelity is CRAZY!!! You can try it for free on Huggingface
