Thermochromic liquid crystals. Not technically a stone. Organic polymers that change color as they heat or cool.

In the 90s if you didn’t have one of these no one knew what mood you were in. Although I was a goth teen so you didn’t need a ring to know what mood I was in 😂
In the 60’s and 70’s those were sold as mood rings.
In the 70s we called that a mood ring.

It's just a mood ring. Liquid crystal elements that change with temperature. Not a 'stone' as such.
A kidney stone, that sucker nearly killed me passing it. And I changed all those colors during the process. Glad to see they smoothed that spiky bastard down. It took on my color changing traits. Drink cranberry juice and yours will change different colors too.
