There’s a serious issue that deserves transparency and accountability: Historical climate records exist, and they should be consistent, traceable, and publicly verifiable. When adjustments are made, the public deserves clear explanations, not blind trust. Right now, many people are questioning whether data is being altered in ways that exaggerate trends to justify extreme policies. That includes concerns about geoengineering proposals and the potential health and environmental risks tied to atmospheric spraying. This isn’t about denying science; it’s about demanding honesty in it. If decisions are being made that impact our air, our health, and our future, then the data behind those decisions must be open, accurate, and beyond manipulation. We’re asking questions. Having covered my trip personally, I had the pleasure of being an invited guest of FIFA. Notably, Jamaica is part of a bid to co-host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup. While it is still a bid, we must prepare ourselves and show that Jamaica is ready for opportunities of this scale. That is why we are moving ahead with plans to redevelop the National Stadium Complex and continue improving Kingston. I also want Jamaicans to know that the work we are doing to make our country safer is making a difference. As crime continues to decline, Jamaica is becoming a more attractive destination for international events, conferences and investment.

Terence Tao, UCLA mathematics professor and Fields Medallist, on why AI may be succeeding at science while scientists get worse at it: Tao starts by naming the tension directly: "There is this paradox that on the one hand AIs are becoming more powerful and more capable and making fewer mistakes, and they are ostensibly achieving a lot of the goals that we think scientists are trying to do. They're running experiments. They're analyzing data. They're writing papers." Experiments run, data analyzed, papers written — the exact outputs any university or funding body would cite as proof that science is working. Tao's concern is what those outputs stop telling you: "It may be that it comes at the cost of the AI picks up some skill but no human scientist gets any better at doing the science." The skill still accumulates, just in the wrong place. The system gets more capable while the people operating it stand still, because the work that used to build a researcher is now the work being handed off. And the cost shows up in the one thing scientists are supposed to be able to do: "No human can communicate exactly what just happened and why. This scientific discovery is interesting, why this proof is new and what features it has and how it connects." That final clause is the sharp end of it. Tao is describing a result nobody can place — a proof that arrives with no one able to say what makes it new, how it's built, or how it connects to the rest of the field. Understanding is a separate achievement from getting the answer, and it can quietly disappear while the answers keep arriving on schedule. Which is why he thinks the target itself needs re-examining: "We may have to sort of redesign our conception of what science is and what we actually want out of science. The issue of the Banyarwanda (Bavandimwe) in Uganda is a complex one to understand. To understand why they are included in the Constitution yet apparently officially discriminated against. To understand why it is said that Banyarwanda are core to Museveni’s government, yet their sentiment is that they are at the margins. To understand why MK who is close with the lead proponent- Gashumba - and holds ‘special powers’ in the state, also can’t help them. Is there something we don’t know about this matter?

At full council we had a debate on Climate change, as a motion was presented to repeal the "Climate Emergency." As expected the left-wing parties made out that if we didn't all suddenly install solar panels and drive electric cars, we faced impending doom! I argued the point that as much as they are blamed, Aeroplanes nor Cows are killing the planet and the 0.0004% of CO2 created by man is negligible and regardless of what we do, the climate will continue to change. It's called nature.

In the interest of democratic participation and to allow our communities to exercise their fair choice in selecting those they believe will be the best public representatives. Those communities affected we believe should be given the opportunity to participate in the democratic processes. It is not harmful to democracy to allow the investigation into the technical issues to take place. On of the major changes is how the ANC manages the candidate selection process is that there are new requirements, the criteria we use now is much more stringent to ensure that those we send to contest elections are qualifying and wanted by their communities, both in ethical conduct, skills and competence. What that means is that ANC processes of candidates selection are very laborious and we are the first to admit that they are laborious because we involve over a period of time many stakeholders including the community, to those who say why we left things to the eleventh hour we can say categorically we did not. We want to assure our members and communities that those communities and municipalities affected we are dealing with this issue and do find justice in the process and that they will exercise their democratic right. That is why we are asking for a constructive solution with the independent electoral commission and we do believe they will open the door to engagement, it is a Chapter 9 institution it is duty bound to find a solution as long as that solution does not break the law. We are not asking for any changes in our list, we are asking for that portion that was kicked out to be investigated.
