The Saharan sand viper is a species of venomous snake found in the Sahara Desert, spanning across several countries in North Africa. This viper is primarily nocturnal, spending the hottest parts of the day buried in the sand to avoid extreme temperatures. At night, it emerges to hunt, relying on its excellent camouflage to ambush prey. While venomous, the bite of the Saharan sand viper is rarely fatal to humans, with effective antivenom available. However, its venom is potent enough to quickly subdue its smaller prey.
