This video is rightly gaining a lot of traction ~ a special mention though to capital gains on buy to let ~ I would love to sell up & put my capital into something more profitable but there’s no chance I’m handing over 24% to the greedy grasping pedo loving government ~ fuck ‘em

My dad, retired, lives alone in a 4 bed detached houae worth over 1M GBP. He wants to downsize to live a simpler life, and release equity for him and family. But he cant. The stamp duty is too expensive.

George Osborne- a complete & utter incompetent twat, he with Cameron set the wheels in motion for this mess & the Tory lurch to new Labour in blue. So angry 😡- we are in exactly the position as your Brighton Friend 1/2 house unused

We would love to downsize. Empty nesters in a 5 bed property. We would roughly save 5 to 10k per year. What’s the point. SDLT would be so much there’s no point in moving. 11 houses in our street (55 bedrooms) total inhabitants of all 11 houses = 21 people.

Love you Dominic. Any chance you could stand for election? You would be a shoo in for Chancellor in the Reform Government!

Totally correct , an absurd tax dreamt up by idiots at the Treasury with no understanding of the real world.

Don't disagree with your analysis but it might have been better not to walk past an Estate Agent's Sold board and a Let By sign....

The 5% additional stamp duty is the worst. If one spouse doesn’t own property decides to buy their first property, they still get hit with the additional 5% if their partner already solely owns a property.

I work as a property renovator, doing 1 house a year. The last house I bought was for 127500 not a lot in today's market I know but by the time I'd finished it cost 134 and change 6.5k down the drain and I'll be taxed on the end profit.
