Great speech! When the Munich Security Conference was first held in 1963, Soviet Communism was on the march. Europe and the U.S. stood together and won the Cold War. Three decades later, we found ourselves in a new Cold War. But this time, Chinese Communism completed that march by embedding itself deeply within Western societies. It has succeeded in subverting the world order the U.S. helped build after World War II, violating every rule that governed that system. But this time, the enemy is not the CCP alone. If WWII and the Cold War had really been about communism, the collapse of the Soviet Union should have ended the confrontation. Instead, the USSR disappeared, communism is gone, yet Russia remains the designated adversary. And, just like Stalin envisioned, Germany is gearing up to revenge for the defeat in WWII, only the role of the new Furher has been assigned to Zelensky.

The failure of socialism (ie., communism) is one of the most extensively documented outcomes in political and economic history. Across continents and cultures, under charismatic leaders and rigid technocrats alike, it has NEVER achieved the prosperity or equality it consistently claims to provide. The issue is not that socialism (ie., communism) has been poorly implemented. It is that its very design is incompatible with human freedom and economic reality. A nation, such as our United States of America, that values individual rights, personal responsibility, and a free society cannot afford to treat socialism (ie., communism) as a harmless alternative. It strips away the God-given right to chart your own course and hands your future to bureaucrats who believe they own you (and they will own you). I don’t know what happened Mr. President Donald J. Trump in your meeting today but I’m here to tell you, if it acts like a communist and quacks like a communist, it’s a communist! Sorry, I’m not buying it.

Testament to the party the supporters and the drive and determination of the Legendary Rt. Hon. Winston Peters. Here’s to 2024 and beyond and the beginning of finding our sense of Nationhood once again.
